The Kiwanis Club of Kansas City Kansas West, is an organization of men and women from the Kainsas City, Kansas area that serve the children of our community. This club was chartered September 11, 1979. We are 40 members strong and are proud of our service to the community of Wyandotte County. Such projects are Dictionaries for 3rd graders, Food baskets for needy families at Christmas, providing shoes and school supplies for the homeless students in District 500, provide underwear for Kaw Valley Center, had a hayride and weiner roast for students at Kaw Valley, donated funds to the Wyandotte County Park Foundation for accessible playgrounds and PACES for their "Toys for Dots" fund; rang bells for the Salvation Army, give $9000 in college scholarships, provide helmets for children at our annual Bike Rodeo, send holiday cards to the military, provide a lunch for our sheriff's department to thank them for their service, collect canned goods for the Service Club Challenge (a challenge between the service organizations in KCKs) that go to Harvesters and raising funds for the Victory Junction Gang Camp-Midwest for a cabin. This is a few of the things we do for our community.
